Faith Builders – Timing

In my last blog, I wrote about how, through the faith act of trusting in God’s whisper to me, He not only provided the right home for my family, but the finance for that home in a miraculous way.

God’s gift to us of this amazing home to live in was one thing, but knowing we had it until it was time to return to Asia was equally important to us. We did not want to move again during this season. God’s answer to us on that score was equally confirming to our hearts, so we settled in for our year’s stay in Australia.

We had been in the house a few months when the landlord came to visit us. It was good to put a face to her name and get to know this lady personally. Out of curiosity I did ask her if she intended on selling the home. Her answer was, ‘no’. I was so pleased to hear that confirming news directly from the owner. I breathed a sigh of relief knowing we were indeed secure in the home God had given us for the time we were on Australian soil.

Approximately two months after her visit however, an estate agent rang to say they were wanting to inspect the property. At first we didn’t think anything of it because there was nothing said to indicate the inspection was for any other reason than to check on the state of the home. Suspicion arose though when over the following weeks several more agents came to also inspect the property.

A quick phone call to our landlord confirmed what we suspected, the house was going on the market. We still had six months on the contract and besides this fact, God had promised us this home for as long as we needed it. We did the only thing we knew to do, we prayed and we reminded God of His promise.

Over the following months, Estate Agents brought droves of people through the door of our home. Each day on returning home, we would be greeted with a handful of business cards sitting on our table, indicating more people had been through ‘our home’ to see if it was the right one for them. Would it be today that we got a phone call?

Approximately four months after the house had gone on the market and around one hundred people had gone through the home, God started speaking to us about setting a date to return to Asia. As we began to pray, the 8th of May spoke loud in our spirits. It was so specific. The 8th day of May. We put a stake in the ground as that date being our departure day from the home. No sooner had we settled the timing in our spirit and began our exit plan, did we receive a phone call from an agent telling us that the house had sold. When we asked the agent what date we needed to be out of the house by, this was his reply….

The 8th of May.

Can I encourage you to stay in tune with God and be attentive to His whisper. He will deliver what He promises and it will build your faith.
