We are not here just to exist. We are not here to merely survive in life. We were created, designed and shaped for purpose. We were created to thrive and to live out the purpose we were made for. This fulfils us.
‘Life is more than breath and a heartbeat; meaning and purpose are the life of life.’ Desmond Tutu.
‘We can handle suffering, but we can’t handle a life without purpose.’ Anonymous.
‘We have become his poetry, a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny he has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny and the good works we would do to fulfil it!’ Ephesians 2:10 (TPT)

Each of the women pictured above, Malala Yousafzai, Mother Teresa and Lizzie Velasquez knew their purpose in life, however, it was not an easy road for them to achieve what was in their heart to pursue. These women faced significant battles which could have easily distracted them from fulfilling the plans and purpose in their heart, but they chose not to allow distractions or challenges to define or stop them.
How did they do it?
Firstly, each one had a dream that they converted to plans, then they actioned those plans, step by step. There were days they felt overwhelmed. There were times they walked alone. There were moments they wanted to give up. However, no matter what came their way, they reminded themselves of their purpose and they always chose purpose over circumstance. Why? Because they had a dream, and they knew they were created for the purpose that burned passionately in their heart.
You may have heard of Malala Yousafzai and most likely have heard of Mother Teresa. You probably know some of these women’s trials and their determination to push through, however, you may not have heard of Lizzie Velasquez. You can read her story by googling her but basically because she was born different, she was bullied and treated badly by people in her world and on social media. She was of course impacted deeply by the hurt thrown at her, but Lizzie made a choice. She said; ‘ Am I going to let what others say about me, define me, or am I going to choose to be defined by the purpose I was created for?’ She set herself several goals including, becoming an activist for bullying, a motivational speaker and an author of several books.
We all have dreams. We are all created for purpose. Be encouraged by these women to not give up, but we need a plan, and we need to action that plan and keep moving forward, step by step to see that plan become a reality. Remember, you were created with purpose, on purpose.
Maybe it is time to look at the plans you may have set aside and see them actioned once again. What burns in your heart is often what you were purposed for.
Trust God in your journey.
