Every day is a precious gift. We can complain about a lot of things but truly, if we woke up this morning, it is a gift.
Breathe in every moment of each day. Take time to notice little things around you. We are all in a rush to get to places and often miss the most amazing things around us. The sun shining on our faces. The ocean breeze blowing across our face. A child playing on the street. A smile from a family member. Still having those family members with us. The taste of an apple. The smell of a roast in the oven. So many things we take for granted. Let’s pause and appreciate the day we were given.
There are three goals that can keep us appreciating the gift of each day and each season.
Goal 1
Be grateful in every season. This pandemic season can cause us to only see the things we are definitely not grateful about, but if we take the time to think of things we are grateful for, I guarantee they will outweigh the negative. It does not mean the challenges don’t exist, but our seasons will become more hope-filled when we begin to list the wonderful things in our life.
Goal 2
Be joyful in every season. As I wrote in my last blog, joy is not happiness. It has a deeper more fuller meaning than just happiness. It is rooted in Christ and who He is and who He is to us. Joy in Christ will sustain us and give us strength. ‘The joy of the Lord is our strength.’ Nehemiah 8:10 (NIV). Re-read my blog on ‘Choosing Joy.’
Goal 3
Be faithful in every season. Faithfulness is priceless. I liken faithfulness in some ways to an umbrella. It shelters us in the storms of life. It keeps us cool from the harsh sun and wind, but it also serves us well to keep our balance. The word faithful means; committed, loyal, devoted, sincere, steadfast, unwavering. When you find a faithful friend you are truly blessed. Jesus is the best friend we could ever have. He stays faithful to us no matter what. His love for us is unwavering. He is the greatest example of faithfulness for us to follow.
Every day is a gift. Every season is a gift. Let us use each one wisely.
Trust God in your journey.
