No matter what is happening in our lives or what circumstances we find ourselves in, there is one thing we can be sure of, and that is God’s promises to us. Through God’s living Word, He demonstrates His love, His faithfulness, His commitment and His character to us. There are times in our life where all we have to hang on to is the word. His word spoken to us as a promise sustains us. I am not talking about grabbing a scripture to fit what you would like to hear, but a rhema word from God. The kind of word that goes into your spirit and brings peace to your soul. The kind of word that becomes an anchor to steady you and carry you through the seasons of life.
The following scriptures give us assurance of what God has promised to us. I pray they minister to you, and maybe one of these is your rhema word.
‘For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, Fear not, I will help you’. Isaiah 41:13 (NKJV). God promises to support and help you through every trial.
‘Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you’. 1 Peter 5:6-7 (NKJV). Just knowing your heavenly Father cares about you personally can make any load seem lighter.
‘Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you’. Isaiah 46:4 (NKJV). The Lord desires to constantly support you throughout your life, with the intention of saving you eternally.
‘He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom’. Isaiah 40:11 (NKJV). The Good Shepherd will gladly bear you in His gentle arms right now.
‘The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles’. Psalm 34:17 (NKJV). If you belong to Him, God will always listen when you call to Him for help.
‘In the beginning was the word’. John 1:1 (NKJV). The Word. In Genesis 1, we read that all God needed to do was speak a word and things came into existence. That is the power of God’s voice. That is the power of the Word of God.
‘The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness’. Psalm 29:8 (NKJV). Read the whole of Psalm 29. It is powerful. It has been one of my favourite scriptures while going through the journey of handing things over to Jesus.
‘I will cry to you when my heart is overwhelmed’. Psalm 61:2 (NKJV). When we have no words, God still understands our cry.
Trust God in your journey
