Just say YES – Seven day devotional – Day 7

LETTER FROM THE APOSTLE PAUL – LETTER TO YOU

Take a moment to read 1 Corinthians 1:1-9 where Paul encourages the church. Then read it again but put your own name in everywhere I have put my name (Deb) in this passage, as I have laid out below. Who are your encouragers and supporters? Put their names in this space everywhere these words are written.

I, your encourager/supporter have been called and sent by Jesus, the Messiah, according to God’s plan, along with my friend other encouragers/supporters (your encouragers /your supporters). I send this letter to you Deb (your name) in God’s church, you Deb, cleaned up by Jesus and set apart for a God-filled life. I include in my greeting all who call out to Jesus, wherever they live. He’s their Master as well as ours! May all the gifts and benefits that come from God our Father, and the Master, Jesus Christ, be yours Deb. Every time I think of you Deb—and I think of you often!—I thank God for your life Deb free and open access to God, given by Jesus. There’s no end to what has happened in you Deb—it’s beyond speech, beyond knowledge. The evidence of Christ has been clearly verified in your life Deb. Just think Deb—you don’t need a thing. You’ve got it all! All God’s gifts are right in front of you as you wait expectantly for our Master Jesus to arrive on the scene for the finale. And not only that, but God himself is right alongside to keep you steady and on track until things are all wrapped up by Jesus. God, who got you started in this spiritual adventure, shares with you the life of his Son and your Master Jesus. He will never give up on you Deb. Never forget that.

You will notice a few things in this scripture that are vital tools to remember. God sets everything in place for us. He gives us encouragement and a fan club. Paul reminds us that God is not looking for perfect people because it is Jesus who does the cleansing. If it were the perfect people He chose, I would never have made the grade. In fact, He never used perfect people. Jesus Christ extends His grace and mercy to us all.

Don’t ever doubt that God is for you and He has prepared you for such a time as this. Don’t quite half way because it is hard, God has not left you. He is still walking beside you and guiding your every step of the way.

Q: Are you willing to make a commitment to God to not quit half way? The reward for going to the finish line out ways every struggle you have. The priceless gift you receive in the struggle, is the discovery of knowing a very personal, intimate and faithful God.

What is the word of God saying to you?
2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 (NIV): May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.

Joshua 1:9 (NIV): Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

Ephesians 1:13-14 (NLV): The truth is the Good News. When you heard the truth, you put your trust in Christ. Then God marked you by giving you His Holy Spirit as a promise. 14 The Holy Spirit was given to us as a promise that we will receive everything God has for us. God’s Spirit will be with us until God finishes His work of making us complete. God does this to show His shining-greatness.

Trust God in your journey.

Don’t let this devotional be the end of your motivational line. Continue to ask yourselves the questions I have posed over these past seven days until you reach the place where God intended for you to stand.

I am passionate about seeing people connected with their purpose. To rise up and not be afraid to take that first step because you can trust God in your journey. As you read the journey I took in my book called Just Say Yes, you will find that you too can have confidence to walk your own. Deb x
