Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own. Jeremiah 33:3 (MSG)
This verse caught my attention recently because it tells me just how much God loves us, desires connection with us and wants to reveal His greatness to us. Let’s break this verse down to see what I am talking about.
Call to me – This speaks so clearly of Gods open heart towards us. What He is saying to us here is, ‘You have permission to call me without restrictions of time, conditions or reason. You can call to me anytime. In fact I am telling you, please, connect with Me. I want to hear from you.’
The fact that He says call me, tells us that He wants to be available to us. He wouldn’t say it, if He didn’t mean it. So call Him.
And I will answer you – He is not just wanting you to you call Him, but He is making it known to you that when you do call Him, He is going to answer you. He wants to answer you. He won’t leave you hanging. His word is truth, so if He says He will answer you, He will answer you. His desire is to respond to you. He wants a two way conversation.
I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things – This speaks to me of God’s lavish love for us. Not only does He want us to call Him, not only will He answer our call and answer our questions to Him, but He wants to show us amazing things that He calls marvelous and wondrous. He wants to open our eyes to greater things beyond our wildest expectations. Things we could never know or imagine in the natural. Think about what you consider marvelous and wondrous. Whatever you imagined, it pales into insignificance compared to God’s marvelous and wondrous things.
Things that you could never figure out on your own – This is connected to telling us marvelous and wondrous things, however, I see this goes a step further. God has been watching us trying to work out things on our own. He knows our thoughts and He knows when we struggle with life’s challenges. ‘How will life work out for me? How can I change my situation? How can I get momentum in my business? How will my dreams and visions become a reality?’ God has the answers, and as we sit at His feet, He unveils before us the marvelous and the wondrous things that He has in store for us. It is in those moments, we get a glimpse of His incredible greatness and ability to do more than we can ask or imagine. God lays before us the way forward. Ways we would never have figured out on our own if we had not entered into His throne room in the first place.
Call me! I believe God is saying so much more to us than just talk to me about your requests. I believe God is saying ‘Be present with Me’. Take time to be present with my company so that what follows will be the answer to your heart’s cry, the revealing of My magnificence and wonderment and the unveiling of the clear pathway for you to move forward.
